Organic Olive Oil

Although olive oil contains only small amounts of omega-3 fatty acids, the high oleic acid content may aid in incorporating omega-3 fatty acid into cell membranes. It is rich in antioxidants and phytonutrients. Extra virgin organic olive oil should be sought since many commercial brands are solvent extracted
Definition: “Organic” refers to a production process that is free of harmful chemicals. For example, compost and manure are used to replace artificial (chemical) fertilizers, and pesticides are largely plant-based. National and international certification bodies regularly inspect and certify organic farms. Our organic olive oil is certified organic by Ecocert, while our organic flax oil is certified organic by Afrisco.

Definition: Extra virgin olive oil comes from the first pressing of the olives, contains no more than 0.8% acidity, and is judged to have a superior taste. There can be no refined oil in extra-virgin olive oil.

Production Method:
Certified organic olives are finely ground, obtaining a paste that is mixed with water and processed by a centrifuge, which extracts the oil from the paste, leaving behind pomace.
