Flax oil has health benefits for animals as well as humans. Horses and dogs are commonly given supplements of flax oil, to help treat conditions such as arthritis, to increase physical performance, to give the animal a nice, shiny coat, or simply to enhance the animals health and wellbeing. The recommended dosage depends on the size of the animal, and is based on the following rough guidelines:
