Eczema (dermatitis)
ECZEMA, also known as dermatitis, is a common inflammation of the skin characterised by dry, swollen, red and raised areas that can flare up and itch. Over time, affected skin may become thickened and scarred.
While there is no cure for eczema, the symptoms can be managed. A common treatment is topical steroid creams, which can reduce inflammation, though these creams can damage the skin with long-term use. Oil-based moisturising creams may also be effective at alleviating symptoms.
Credé Skin Balm is effective because black cumin seed oil has strong anti-inflammatory properties. Since eczema is an inflammation of the skin, the natural anti-inflammatory properties of black cumin help soothe the symptoms associated with eczema, and can reduce swelling, redness and itch. Argan oil and jojoba oil help soothe and repair damaged skin. Credé Skin Balm is therefore a natural alternative to steroid creams.
Depending on the location of eczema on your body, other parts of our range may also be effective in alleviating the symptoms of eczema. In particular, our Black Seed Soap, and Cleansing Milk have been designed to be gentle for skin that is sensitive or damaged.
